Massage for the aging adult, or for someone facing a terminal illness, can help promote quality of life, decrease pain, and enhance well being.
Gentle touch is often a soothing and relaxing option for the elderly client or the individual facing end of life.
Massage can assist clients that are near death, by easing anxiety and providing comfort.

Massage and gentle touch can often help alleviate lonliness, and feelings of isolation for the elderly client.
There are many benefits of massage for the aging client. Administering touch to the elderly can also increase appetites, decrease the need for pain medications, calm agitated states, promote restful sleep, and decrease post-surgical recovery. (
